The magnesium metal molding process respects the environment
- No ozone depleting gases such as SF6 (sulfur hexoflouride) are used, produced, or released into the air, so there is no “greenhouse effect”
- There are no landfill concerns because there is no solid waster residue
- No dross or slag is generated
- Magnesium used in this process has excellent recyclibility
- Because there is no foundry (the entire process takes place in a closed machine), workers are not exposed to molten metals
- Utility costs to run metal molding equipment are lower than other metal forming processes
