Why Magnesium?

Esthetics and Corrosion Protection

G-Mag™ produces components that have a standard, finished gray metal finish. Because of their low porosity level (98% to 99%), these components can be coated with great results.

In the event a customer wants a coated product for any number of reasons — to add a decorative look and feel, to add a protective barrier against varying degrees of environmental corrosion, to improve insulation, or to improve wear resistance — we recommend three moderate to extreme finish coat options:

Powder (dry paint) coat which is a moderate coating that is recommended for decorative and low corrosion environment applications. Used mostly for interior components that are not directly exposed to a corrosion environment, it comes in many colors and delivers an excellent cosmetic appearance.

Electrocoat (E-coat) wet paint coat is a more corrosion-resistant coating that is recommended for moderate to high corrosion environments. Finished color is usually limited to black.

Keronite anodizing oxide ceramic coat is designed for the most extreme environments, coming in white/gray oxide and black.
